‘It’s painted to match a 1994 Daytona’

HI, I THOUGHT I would send you a
picture of my Daytona 675. It has been
painted in Barracuda Blue by
8 Ball custom paint, to pay homage to
the 1994 Daytona 900. It has the same
logo font as the period bike, and I have
finished this off with genuine Triumph
Union flag gel stickers. I have added a
genuine Triumph quickshifter (an easy
fit), an Arrow pipe, K&N filter and
Triumph fuel map to go along with it,
I fitted an anti-slip seat cover as the
original was particularly slick. The
Stompgrips I put on the tank help with
this, too. The most effective mod was
reducing the ride height. Being 5ft 7in,

I found the bike a little tall at first so
I reduced the top shock mount spacer
from 10mm to 5mm and dropped the
yokes by 5mm. It cured the tippy-toe
feeling and there was no need to mess
with the suspension linkage.
The fuelling is spot-on – the loss of
the massive exhaust silencer has
made it noticeably lighter, and the
amazing soundtrack coming from the
airbox is totally addictive. I owned the
previous model, which was a great
bike, but the newer model is head and
shoulders above it. It is a great shame
to see them no longer on sale. Keep
up the great work with the mag.

you can really feel it. It sounds
