1 RCV fairing
‘This is a GPR fairing taken from a
genuine customer RCV mould and
I can’t believe there are any others in
existence. I had a mate who worked in
a place where he could get this made
for me, which was a result. I did try to
sell it but no one wanted it, which I’m
amazed by. If it floats your boat, give
me a shout via the YouTube channel.’
3Heatingpipes
‘The house’s heating system runs through the garage, so I
removedthelaggingtoallowabitofheattoescapeandwarm
the garage. The long-term plan is to fit a radiator, but I’ve not
gotaroundtothatyet.I’lldoitinthesummerwhenitdoesn’t
matter if I cock it up and leave the house without heating...’
2 Loft space
‘I keep my trailer up here, but most
of it is just crap. A few bits of old
Blade, some KTM parts, it’s just
storage space. I’d be lost without
this extra space, but it does look like
it will fall down any second. Those
Swift leathers really are hideous...’
Vlogging under the name Lamb Chop, which is a
result of a forum nickname after an old haircut that
included big sideburns during his gaming days, IT
worker John is something of an old hand at this
new technology.
“I started about four years ago and enjoyed the
whole creativity of editing and making the videos,”
he explains. “I was building my FireBlade special,
which I called ‘The Beast’, and I just videoed my
progress and the various successes and failures during
the build. I knew there were people out there doing the
vlogging, but I decided to do what people were posting
on bike builder forums through pictures, but in video
form. I think I did 20-odd videos on that special in the
end and quite a few people ended up subscribing to my
YouTube channel and following the build.”

10 KTM parts
‘I’vejustswappedmyDuke’s
triple clamps and these are the
oldonesaswellasthe
headlight unit that I’ve got to fit
back on. I’ve done a video of
thejobandalsowrittenitup
for the magazine if you are
interested in the conversion.’
9 Leathers
‘I had bikes when I was
younger, but one of the
conditions with the wife
when I took it back up was
that I’d always wear the
proper kit when riding. It’s
just sensible and I totally
respect her demand.’
11 R i d i n g k i t
‘I tend to leave my riding kit in the
garage as it takes up so much
space in the house. The only
downside is that I have to walk from
the house to my garage wearing an
undersuit, which makes me look like
a cross between a Tellytubby and
the Milk Tray man...’
12 Suzuki shirt
‘I was invited on the launch of the
GSX-R125 at Silverstone and this was
a gift from Suzuki. Oddly, that led to
me helping out PB when the Suzuki
PR man put me in touch with the
magazine. The shirt is a bit skin-tight
so it’s just an ornament, I look like
Daffyd from Little Britain in it...’
