GIRARD-PERREGAUX
Minute Repeater Tri-Axial Tourbillon
This 48mm diameter titanium watch with its
sophisticated design, encompasses the full
range of Girard-Perregaux skills and unites
within two major complications the entire
spectrum of creative approaches that have
punctuated the history of the Manufacture.
To visually highlight the operation of the
hammers, the hour and quarter racks, as well
as the surprise-piece enabling the mechanism
to strike the minutes, the designers asked
the watchmakers to create an original hours
display structure allowing them to dispense
with a dial. To free up as much space as
possible and thus enable the repeater
mechanism to reign supreme over half of the
upper disc surface normally occupied by the
dial, the masters of the Manufacture Girard-
Perregaux divided the space into two parts
by means of a long bridge positioned in line
with the winding crown. Eliminating the dial
and reconstructing the time display mode
thus stemmed from this same determination
to substantially increase the sound volume of
this timepiece intended to accompany music-
loving aesthetes at the heart of today’s often
very noisy big cities.
GIRARD-PERREGAUX
The Neo Tourbillon with Three
Bridges Skeleton
The model is presented in a 45mm
diameter titanium case measuring
15.85mm high. With its ample curves and
large glazed areas, this shell resembles a
panoramic observation platform looking
out onto a horological monument. The
satin-brushed bombed case band is
distinguished by the total absence of any
bezel. Its polished lugs are perched high
on the case so as to create a strong and
early inflection. It is this curve that ensures
the Neo Tourbillon with Three Bridges
Skeleton sits snugly on any wrist, however
small. Dominated by sapphire rather
than titanium, the case is built so as to
maximise the view of the movement, itself
based on the principle of transparency.
The dial-side crystal is of the glass box
type, steeply cambered and convex.
It rises vertically from the case, before
changing angle to cover the heart of the
watch, like a protective dome.
GREUBEL FORSEY
GMT Earth
With this new creation, Robert Greubel
and Stephen Forsey are once again
pushing the envelope and venturing into
uncharted territories. The GMT Earth
provides an amazing 360° view of our
planet Earth all the way from the North
to the South Pole. This technical feat
was achieved by an original movement
architecture in relation to the case
shape and dimensions. Revealing the
entire terrestrial globe required complex
application of sapphire crystal, a skill that
Greubel Forsey has acquired over many
years of research and utilization. The GMT
Earth enables a clear view of three time
zones simultaneously to within a quarter
of an hour. Furthermore, on the movement
side of the timepiece, 24 time zones are
displayed with the summer and winter
times to complement the universal time
indicated by the terrestrial globe. This
white gold edition is limited to 33 pieces.
