A keen researcher and an Internationally
acknowledged Art Historian and scholar,
Dr.Nagaswamy has published several books
including "Master pieces of South Indian
Bronzes", "Siva Bhakti", “Tantric Cult in
Tamilnadu”, "Uttaramerur" in French with
Dr.Francoise Gros (1970), "Facets of South
Indian Art and Architecture" and Tamil
Nadu-The Land of Vedas, etc., the latest
being “Thirukkural – An Abridgement of
Sastras. Dr.Nagaswamy, an ardent devotee
of Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham, has also
served as the First Vice Chancellor of Sri
Chandrasekharendra Saraswathi Viswa
Mahavidyalaya University, Kanchipuram.
He has also been a good friend of Tamil
Nadu Vishva Hindu Parishad.
As I am also a devotee of Kanchi Mutt
and associate of TN VHP, I have been
having his acquaintance for more than adecade. He has always been a Teacher and
Guide for me, and as a writer I have been
immensely benefitted by his guidance and
support.So, the next day, on the morning of
26th January, I met him at his residence,
conveyed my greetings and wishes and
took is blessings. He loves to take his
visitors to his mammoth library which is
at the ground floor of his house and that
day he took me there for yet another time!
Young and tireless at 87, Dr.Nagaswamy
continues with his contributions.May Bhagwan Ishwara bless him with a
long and healthy life for the benefit of our
Mother Nation!
