I’m 30 years old and I work in a private
bank. My wife, 28, and my daughter (six
months old) are dependent on me.
My parents live with us. My income is
`70,000 per month and my father gets
`30,000 as pension. I can easily save
`42,000 every month. I’d like a review of
my investment portfolio.

My Investments (started six months ago):
■ Systematic Investment Plan (SIP) -
`34,000, including `6,000 in ELSS
■ I own a plot of land, which is a gift from
my father, worth `35 lakh at present
■ I contribute `2,000 per month
to Voluntary Provident Fund (VPF)
■ `500 per month in Atal Pension Yojana
(APY) for myself and my spouse
■ `1,000 per month in Sukanya Samriddhi
Account (SSA) for my daughter
■ `1,100 per month in Public Provident
Fund (PPF)
■ `4,000 per month in National Pension
Scheme (NPS)
■ `35,000 in fixed deposits for 18 months
in auto renewal mode
■ `1,000 per month in recurring deposits
for 10 years

Liquid cash available:
■ `30,000 (`20,000 in bank account and
`10,000 at home)

My insurance portfolio:
■ Term insurance plan: `1 crore, for which I
pay `18,000 yearly
■ Health insurance plan: `25,000, with a
`10 lakh limit, for myself, my spouse
and daughter
■ Health insurance plan: `33,000, with a
`13 lakh limit for my parents
■ Critical illness insurance: `7,000, with an
assured value of `20 lakh, for myself

My loan liability to date is nil.
■ I ensure that my credit card bill doesn’t
go beyond `10,000 in any month.

My investments in direct funds (SIP):
I have sufficient time to review and manage

my direct funds with the help of
Outlook Money.

Small & Midcap and Tax Relief 96.

My five future plans are:
■ Buy a home in 2023, with a housing loan
of `1 crore. At this time, I will sell my
property, whose worth I’m expecting to
be around `50 lakh in five years. I will put
this money into mutual fund and with the
dividend payout from this, my home loan
EMI will not be a burden on me.
■ Accumulate `1 crore after 18 years for my
daughter’s education
■ Gift `1.5 crore to my daughter on her
marriage after 25 years
■ Ten years from now, I need `50 lakh for
interior designing of my house
■ Will need a corpus of `18 crore when I
retire after 29 years
