Scan a document
In iScanner press the + icon. Tap to choose

document. iScanner will automatically detect
the file and isolate it from other items with a
blue overlay. It will then snap a still.

2

Correct composition
Tap the bottom-right icon to view the
document. If the edges are untidy or the
document is distorted tap the Crop icon.
Drag the blue handles to lose unwanted
edges and correct distortion. Tap Save.

3

Remove creases
A folded document may suffer from
creases. Tap the greyscale icon and then tweak
the brightness slider at the left and contrast

creases vanish while the text is clear. Tap Done.

4

Convert to text
You can tap the share icon to export the
scanned document as a JPEG or PDF to a
range of destinations. If you want to convert
the scanned document into editable text tap
the ... icon then tap ‘Recognize Text with OCR’.

5

Share the text file
iScanner then analyses the document
and converts the image into editable text. Tap
Done. Tap the share icon and choose the Text
option. You can then email the text document,
and it will be editable in an app such as Pages.

6

Sign a document
If you need to sign a scanned document
tap the ... icon and choose Sign the Page. Tap
to choose and ink colour such as black, red or
blue. Scrawl your signature on the iPad and tap
Done to add it to the scanned document.

Genius tip!
iScanner lets you set
up folders within the
app so that you can
organise and store
scanned documents
effectively.

Jargon buster
iScanner uses Optical
Character Recognition
technology to convert
a photo of text into
editable text. The app
can detect different
