Things take a sharp turn for front-runners Alex

and Emily this week. Following Sunday night’s

dismal performance at the kids’ sports day

challenge, the couple find themselves in

meltdown mode when at Elimination House.

When Alex and Emily’s pork main course is

looking raw, the usually bubbly Queensland

pocket rocket breaks down in tears.

‘I don’t want to go home, I’m just so

angry that this is what we’ve done,’ Emily

says through tears.

Heading out to serve the judges and other

teams, Emily can’t contain her tears.

‘It is so devastating. Emily is absolutely

distraught,’ fellow contestant Jess says.

Is this going to be the end for the hospitality

king and queen?

In news set to shock MKR, New

Idea can reveal Sonya and Hadil

hadn’t seen each other for more

than six years before starting on

the show – and they had never

even cooked together!

‘Our mums are really good

friends but Hadil is closer to my

younger sister,’ Sonya says.

‘I hadn’t actually seen her

for six years before we started

on the show. ‘She grew up in

Sydney but then she moved.’

While the ladies went on to

take out the highest Instant

Restaurant score this season,

before the show, they had never

actually cooked together.

‘I knew Sonya was into

cooking,’ Hadil says.

‘We’d swap notes when we

were younger. So, there was

always that shared interest

between us.’

Siblings Georgie and Alicia

have made no secret of the

fact that their family

dynamic isn’t always

smooth and easy.

And now Alicia has

admitted she isn’t

exactly enamoured

with her 25-year-old

sister’s fiance.

‘He is a nice guy, he

just seems a little bit mild,’

she says.

Having been married

and now divorced, the

accountant reveals she

doesn’t think getting

married young is really

such a good idea.

‘We were too young

to understand what we

were promising to each

other,’ she explains.

‘We knew what

a relationship was but we

didn’t understand what

a marriage was.’
