Brad Pitt all but
crumbled after
ex-wife Angelina
Jolie banned them from seeing
each other during their
tumultuous marriage, but it
appears the Ocean’s Eleven
star has had the final laugh.
The actor told friends he’s
responsible for encouraging
Brad to reignite his romance
with former wife Jennifer
Aniston, who George has always
had a close friendship with.
Just last weekend, George
and Brad were spotted out
together for the first time in
more than five years – marking
a new chapter in their friendship.
The pair enjoyed dinner with
other Hollywood heavyweights
including Sean Penn, Bradley
Cooper and Laura Dern in LA,
with George even using Jen
Aniston’s private bodyguard.
And it seems George didn’t
hold back in telling dinner
guests just how happy
he is that Brad
and Jen have
reunited.‘George has always hated
Ange and really disliked the way
she controlled Brad throughout
their marriage,’ says a source.
‘He loved Brad and Jen when
they were together and was
devastated when they split –
especially when he found out it
was because of Ange, who he’d
never heard good things about.
‘So when Ange and Brad
split, George was the first
person to call him and reconnect- and also plant the seed about
reaching out to Jen.
‘He’d stayed in contact
with Jen even after her divorce
from Brad – and they’ve never
stopped being close. When
George heard that her marriage
to Justin was on the rocks, he
really stepped up efforts to
reconcile the pair.
‘Now it’s happened, he’s out
there telling anyone who’ll listen
that he’s responsible. He’s pretty
chuffed about it.’
While Brad would’ve been
more than happy to finally catch
up with George and Sean –
friends who he wasn’t allowed
to hang out with while he was
married to Ange – one notable
no-show at the pre-Oscars
weekend dinner was Jen.

split from husband Justin
Theroux – however it’s
believed she caught up with
Brad and George later.
‘Jen lent George her
bodyguard, knowing he
and Brad would be coming
back to her place in Bel Air
after dinner,’ says a source.
‘Given that George and
Amal are mostly based in
the UK now, he doesn’t
have his own security detail
in LA anymore – so Jen
was only too happy to help.
‘After the dinner, George
and Brad went back to her
place and they had a
nightcap. Like old times.
‘Brad raved about what
a great mum Jen has been
to his kids – that made him
fall in love with her even
more. And because George
is a new dad he could really
appreciate it.
‘Brad said the kids have
taken to Jen and they get
really upset when they have
to leave. He’s really enjoyed
watching them bond.’
George and Brad’s
friendship became Hollywood
legend back when they were
filming the Ocean’s trilogy
thanks to the infamous
pranks they pulled.
George has previously sent
celebrities letters pretending tobe Brad – including sending
legendary actress Meryl Streep
a dialect coach DVD to improve
her speech. Brad retaliated when
filming Ocean’s Twelve in Italy,
convincing shopkeepers George
preferred to be addressed as his
character, Danny Ocean.
The most shocking prank
went to George, whose antics
managed to get Brad in hot
water with police. ‘I got a
bumper sticker in the shape of a
pot plant that said “f*** cops,”
and I put that on the back of his
car,’ Clooney told Vanityfair.com.
‘Because there’s no way you’re
not getting arrested with that.’
Now with their friendship
back on track, it seems there will
be more double dates with
George, wife Amal and Brad and
Jen to come – as well as pranks.
‘I’m doing one now. In a year
you’re going to hear that I’ve
been arrested,’ George told UK

new romance going from strength
to strength, the actor has made
no secret of how much his kids
are loving his new love.
Brad has told friends that Jen is
a ‘great mum’ to the six kids he
shares with estranged wife Angelina
Jolie, revealing the former Friends
star already formed a very special
bond with his young brood.
‘Brad’s kids were always curious
about Jen – they knew he’d been
married before and always wanted
to know more about her, but of
course couldn’t ask because Ange
would shut down any talk like that,’
says a source close to the A-list actor.
‘So now that they’ve been able to
finally meet her and spend a lot of
time with Jen, they really love her.
And it’s been a huge load off Brad.
He’s really impressed with what
a great mum she’s been.
