A STORM CLOUD LARGER
THAN EARTH – ON JUPITER.Cut two pieces of
natural raffia
around 45cm long.
Tie them to the hoop
so that they cross over
each other. Pull them up at the
middle and tie a knot with
a loop to hang over a hook.
Cut two pieces of blue raffia
and tie them to the hoop
so they cross in the middle.CUT TWO 11CM CIRCLES FROM
THE GLITTER CARDSTOCK, AND
CUT OUT A 6CM CIRCLE FROM
THE CENTRE SO THAT IT FITS
OVER A 6CM RATTAN BALL.
GLUE THE CIRCLES TOGETHER
SO THAT THE GLITTER CAN BE
SEEN ON BOTH SIDES. PUSH
THE BALL INTO THE CENTRE
AND USE A HOT GLUE GUN
TO SECURE IT.Choose nine rattan balls in different
sizes, textures and colours to
represent each planet in our solar
system. Secure a piece of raffia in
differing lengths (from 30cm to
40cm) to each ball with a pin or by
tying it around the rattan. Tie the
other end of the raffia to the hoop,
spacing each planet evenly apart.CREATE A 7.5CM STAR AND
9CM MOON TEMPLATE FROM
CARDBOARD. USE THE
TEMPLATES TO TRACE AND CUT
OUT 18 STARS AND EIGHT
MOONS FROM GLITTER
CARDSTOCK. GLUE THE SHAPES
TOGETHER, SECURING A PIECE
OF RAFFIA ABOUT 40CM LONG
IN THE MIDDLE. YOU SHOULD
HAVE NINE STARS AND FOUR
MOONS TO TIE TO THE TOP
OF THE MOBILE.ALL
