GRIEF OVER HER FAMILY LOSS

hile 2018
was meant
to be her
best year
yet, having
started her new presenting
gig on The Project, last week
Lisa Wilkinson made the
devastating announcement
that her ‘angel’ mother had
passed away.
Taking to Instagram, the
58-year-old TV veteran shared
a vintage picture of herself and
her three children, Billi, Jake,
and Louis, along with her
mother, Beryl.
‘Farewell to my sweet,
beautiful mum, Beryl. Youwere an angel, a fighter, and
a devoted mum and grandma
right to the end. Be at gentle
peace now. Xxx,’ she captioned
in the emotional message.
In a 2015 interview, the
former Today host told Daily Life
of Beryl’s rough start in life.
She explained how her
grandmother was an alcoholic
and how her mother was
‘shunted between orphanages
as a child.’
‘So Mum sort of grew up
not kind of knowing where she
was going to lay her head, and,
um, she met an angel in the
shape of my dad,’ Lisa said of

Speaking to Hit 105’s Stav, Abbyand Matt, Dickie confirmed he’s
not sure if he’ll be going to his
fellow Today host’s big day.
‘I certainly haven’t received an
invitation yet. But I’ve been away
for a couple of days... It could be
in my inbox.’
