a criminal trial involving the
murder of a little baby is
devastating to her. She’s really
struggling to work out why
no-one in her past would have
told her before, and why it’s
been kept such a secret.
‘She feels betrayed by some
of her family, that’s for sure.’
But while Patti has been
fighting her own personal
demons from her past, it seems
that her husband Bert has been
on his own mission. The TV
legend has reportedly lost 20kg
in his battle of the bulge, after
doctors suggested he slim down
for the good of his health.
Indeed his weight loss has
been on display on proud Patti’s
Instagram page in recent weeks,
with new photos showing Bert
noticeably smaller in the
stomach and face areas. So much
so, that his new look invited
a barrage of positive comments
from some of his many fans.
‘You’re looking really healthy
Bert,’ wrote one wellwisher,
while another added the
comment: ‘Bert looks so good!’

Sources say Bert – who had
quadruple heart surgery back in
2012 – has been on a health kick
in recent months, and it’s all
thanks to Patti.
‘Doctors told Bert he really
needed to slim down if he
wanted to keep his health in
check, so he’s made it a real
mission,’ says a source.
‘Patti in particular has jumped
on board with it – she’s always
been a healthy eater, and she just
put Bert on a strict diet.
‘It didn’t take long for the
weight to fall off – I’ve heard
he’s lost around 20kg. He looks
like a new man! His famous
moonface is a thing of the past!’
Last year, Bert opened up
about his health woes – vowing
to get things back on track after
a nasty bout of pneumonia left
him hospitalised for five days.
‘My health is back to 100
per cent,’ he told TV Week.
‘Pneumonia has been my
greatest danger and the thing
I have to be careful about. But
I’m feeling good. Life is still a
very good time.’
