With its carefully-considered equilib-
rium between the exposed metal struc-
ture and the suspended seat, Telo
Lounge evokes the appeal of the field
chair in African lodges. The programme
enables different elements to be
grouped together – including a small
table and tray, both conceived to be an
integral part of the furniture – in a sys-
tem for relaxation conceived for public
spaces. The range can be developed in
circular or semicircular configurations

made possible by a system of anchorage
that becomes an aesthetic detail of great
refinement and the structure in steel,
available in different colours, can be
combined with a number of options in
ribbed and padded fabric that make
the chair comfortable. Minimal and
rigorous, Telo Lounge expresses its
stylistic strength eliminating every
decorative and superfluous element
and transforming its structural func-
tion into aesthetic research.

Joy Ki http://www.rondadesign.com

Ki is a system of tables characterised
by their substantial metal base. The
table is available with tops in various
different shapes – round, slightly
hexagonal or rectangular – and
materials - marble, ceramic, coloured
glass and wood, currently Canaletto
walnut, smoked oak and natural oak.

This seat-pouf has been conceived for
multiform environments, supporting
the ever-increasing hybridisation of
workplaces and domestic spaces.
Simple lines create a slightly tapered
profile towards the top enhanced by
the bright colours used for the cover
that play on a two-tone theme.

Q&A

Sebastian
Herkner

Q. What is this design about?
A. The symbolic connection of the
tables to the chairs for me signifies
that communication connects
people.

Q. Why did you call it Telo?
A. Because it looks like a piece of
fabric sitting on a metal structure.
It’s different, spontaneous and light.

Q. How did you work with
Cappellini?
A. Usually young designers do
bedside-tables while the famous
ones design sofas and beds.
Working with Cappellini, and with
Giulio, is unique. He is interested in
ideas and visions.
