Revolution

or bust!

After studying engineering, I graduated in
industrial design at the Royal College of Art in
1993 with the naïve idea that by creating “good
products for the people” it could still be possible
to better society. Twenty-five years later, having
witnessed the increased inequality and injustice
that our current system engenders, being aware
of the paradox of the human condition that can
lead to love and harmony but also violence and
destruction, and having stared into the personal
abyss of meaning many times, I still hold on to
the youthful idea that we as humanity could
transcend, transgress or revolutionise ourselves,
and that a more egalitarian and just world is
possible. If my work holds something of the
comical, it is precisely meant to break the dogma
of such a statement.

Jerszy Seymour

recounts that, in his

eyes, revolution means

changing one’s outlook

and transforming reality
