OF SMALL BUSINESS...

Next year’s International Franchise Show at London’s ExCeL will now take
place on April 5-6 to avoid clashes with other industry events.
Of the date change, event organiser MFV said: “We are always listening to
the needs of our exhibitors and the franchise industry, therefore are prepared
to do all we can to ensure smooth running and industry satisfaction.
“We always strive to make our event as accessible as possible to everyone
and will continue to hold our International Franchise Show at ExCeL London.
“We are certain this decision is the right one for the franchise industry and
are confident this will benefit everyone.”

SALES RECORD FOR DUM DUM DONUTTERIE

D&T STRENGTHENS TEAM

Craig Brown and Vicki Mitman have joined the
accountancy firm’s business advisory team.
Craig is the former managing director of the
Signs Express franchise, while Vicki is an
experienced franchise solicitor.
With pundits forecasting that advances in
artificial intelligence will lead to a revolution
in the accountancy world, being good with
numbers is important, but won’t be enough for
the accountancy firm of the future, D&T boss Carl
Reader says.
Vicki adds: “It’s a really exciting time for
accountants who acknowledge the impact
technology will have on their industry and take
the opportunity to be of even greater value to
their clients.”
The D&T branding has also had a refresh.
Carl explains: “This refresh marks the next stage
of our business’ development and is a reflection
of both where we find ourselves as a business
today and where we want to go.”

Dum Dum Donutterie’s third franchisee owned store has smashed
the sales goal for its first week of trading in the Westfield London
shopping complex.
Franchisee Warren Feather said he was amazed by the queues
of people waiting each day for their Dum Dums and coffee fix. His
work as a private chef has included cooking for many high profile
celebrities.
“Working as a chef, I know what teamwork is all about,” Warren
says. “Having the on-site support during our site negotiation, store
fit-out and launch has been ideal.
“Sales have been much higher than we predicted. We expect
footfall to increase significantly over time. Our next move is to sign up
to Deliveroo and Uber Eats, targeting local businesses and residents.”
Dum Dum Donutterie aims to open 20 stores this year, taking
advantage of prime retail sites on offer by landlords who want a
premium sweet offering in their units.
