right here in Dubai

We may be surrounded by the

towering skyscrapers and the

scorching deserts of Dubai,

but Europe is coming to our

doorstep. The Heart of Europe

is a complex of six islands on

The World, a global landmark

made up of 300 islands,

reclaimed from the sea

just off the coast of Dubai.

As it sounds, they’re formed in the shape

of the world map. The massive project was

revealed by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed

Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President

and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of

Dubai in 2003. Dubai-based

property developer Kleindienst

is responsible for The Heart of

Europe, which is well on the way

to being ready to visit, with its

orst hotel planned to launch later

this year.

Pick your island...

The Heart of Europe will be

made up of six islands when it’s

completed – Main Europe, The

Floating Venice, Germany, Sweden, Switzerland

and St Petersburg. The whole area will cover

six million sq ft and be able to hold up to

16,000 people. Set around 6.5km from the
