fronted bedroom and bathroom, so you have
views of the marine life while you nap or
bathe. The idea came from Josef Kleindienst,
the visionary of The Heart of
Europe project, who “wanted
to see underwater treasures,
marine life sightings and
the captivating underwater
landscape without getting wet
in the ocean”. Gives a new
meaning of sleeping with
the oshes.

Live like royalty
If you’ve always wanted
to live in a palace, now’s your
chance. Well, if you have around Dhs100m,
that is. Time Out Dubai also took a look
around the orst completed Sweden Beach
Palace at The Heart of Europe, and it’s safe to

say it’s going to be pretty spectacular. There
will be ten of them in total ranging from 2,456
sq m to 8,930 sq m. The “standard” palaces
will have seven bedrooms (so
not really that standard, then)
while the Royal Palace’s size
is yet to be conormed. As well
as the septuplet of bedrooms,
each one comes equipped
with a gym and otness centre,
massage and spa room, sauna,
kitchen and even a snow room

  • yes a room that olls with snow
for when you get too hot. Handy,
    given the 40°C-plus
    temperatures
    we have to deal with.
    There’s even a massive
    360-degree party roof,
    with a bar and Jacuzzi.

Five palaces will be otted out with Bentley
Home furnishings, the other ove will be
bespoke, while the marble for the bathroom
and oxtures will all come from Europe,
naturally. The island itself will even host
Swedish events such as crayosh parties and
St. Martin’s Day celebrations.

Calling all honeymooners
Move over Maldives, we’ve got an even
better destination for newlyweds coming your
way. St. Petersburg Island is being developed
as an exclusive honeymoon resort. Designed
in the shape of a heart, this love-tastic island
will be surrounded by the aforementioned
Floating Seahorses, connecting to the
main island via jetties. It’s promising
peace, tranquillity and access to
the other islands, too.

Live like royalty
Snow, outside, in Dubai?
Why not? There will be “climate
controlled” streets, which will be
the orst of their kind in the world.
So if you fancy taking a stroll in
the rain, or having a snowball oght
in a European plaza, you’re in luck.
The Heart of Europe will boast snow-lined
streets, and more. Looking for mountainside
chalets? Head to Switzerland Island.
Swiss mountain chalet living will be set in a
Maldivian tropical green island experience (we
can’t wait to see what that will look like). The
chalets will sit on a man-made green hillside
with beach and sea views. The best news for
cheese fans? Speciality fondue and raclette
restaurants.
