Jalapeños Loca at Loca

While early 2018 may have

seen us say goodbye to

Loca 2.0 in Souk Al Bahar, the

Dubai original is going strong on

the Jumeirah coast, and that’s

probably in good part down

to these bad boys. Jalapeños

peppers, rolled in crushed tortilla

chips and stuffed with Oaxaca

cheese (which is somewhere

between a Monterey Jack and

mozzarella). Then it’s deep fried.

Order them up with a serving of the

famous Loca guacamole, made

tableside, and thank us later.

Lobster roll at The

MAINE Oyster Bar

and Grill

Over at this classy bar and

seafood restaurant in JBR, you

can get your hands on a beautifully

tender lobster roll, prepared

the traditional way from Maine,

on the North Eastern US coast,

itself. And with some homemade

“chips” (crisps) on the side, there

are few better ways for seafood

fans to warm up ahead of a full

meal. Book a table for later, and

don’t miss the shrimp linguine.

Mozzarella sticks at

Perry & Blackwelder’s

If it’s deep-fried cheese

then it’s instantly got our backing

(as you might have gathered by

this list so far). These mighty

mozzarella bites are an enduring

classic on this American eatery’s

hearty menu – and with a

satisfying crunch and an even

more satisfying deluge of stringy,

cheesy goodness with every bite,

Sourdough pizzas at

The Social Room

You may be inclined to

consider this one more than a

snack (you can always share)

and for us these gorgeously soft-

crusted pizzas are one of the

perfect accompaniments to some

chilled-out drinks at the sister bar

to Marina Social. We’re particular

fans of the pulled lamb, pesto

and chargrilled courgette version.
