n his speeches, Pope
Francis often emphasizes
the prime importance
of having a grandparent in a
family. “Grandparents are so
important in the life of the
family to transmit the heritage
of humanity and faith essential
for every society.” According
to the Santo Papa, even the
Church has grandparents—a
lot of them, in fact! Of
course, the first and
foremost would be
none other than Pope
Emeritus Benedict
XVI, whom Pope
Francis calls, with
much affection, the
“wise grandfather at
home.”

Lolo Kiko reminds everyone about

the important bond between

grandparents and grandchildren.

Then there are the cardinals.
Pope Francis told them, “We
must be like grandparents
called to conjure dreams.
The youth needs our dreams,
because from our dreams they
draw strength to prophesize
and bring our tasks forward.”

Two Popes Are Better
Than One! Pope Francis
says, “I like that the
Pope Emeritus lives
here in the Vatican,
it's like having a wise
grandfather at home.”

Pope Francis has a very important reminder not
just to himself, but to all the senior citizens out
there: “Being old is a vocation. It isn't the time
to hang up one's boots.”
