To kick off the 23rd
French Film festival, the
Embassy of France to
the Philippines invited
My Pope to its red-carpet
premiere on June 8. With the
goal of helping Filipinos learn
more about French culture
through movies, the French
Embassy, along with Institut
Français, UniFrance, the Alliance
Française de Manille, and the
Film Development Council of the
Philippines, showed 21 French
films not just in selected Manila
theaters, but in
Davao and Cebu
as well —all in the
month of June. They
also paid homage to
Philippine cinema
by showing local
masterpieces
Anino, Himpapawid,
and Bagahe on
Independence Day.
You can say that the
My Pope team sure
had a fine time at the
movies that month!
OFF TO THE
MOVIES
ENLIGHTENING EVENT
My Pope was the official media partner of the Certificate in
Catechetical Leadership and Supervision (CCLS) event for
diocesan catechetical directors and coordinators held last April
30 to May 12. Organized by the Lasallian Catechetical Center of
De La Salle University, Manila in collaboration with the CBCP-
Episcopal Commission on Catechesis and Catholic Education,
the event included lectures on the sacred sciences, pastoral
ministry, and human sciences. It was definitely a celebration
of praise and unified goals among like-minded people!
A GREAT
DESTINY
On May 29, My Pope joined
more than 2,000 people in the
Cuneta Astrodome for the New
Evangelization Conference
2018: Destined for Greatness.
Organized by Live Christ Share
Christ, the NEC is an annual
event that started five years
ago in support of the Catholic
Bishop’s Conference of the
Philippine’s nine-year novena
toward 2021, the 500th year of
the dawning of Christianity in the
Philippines. The faith-filled day
was packed with events like talks
and songwriting and chorale
competitions, and there were
booths as well. In fact, throngs of
people gathered around the My
Pope booth! Goes to show how
magnetic Lolo Kiko is!
Precious
Knowledge
Attendees learned
about My Pope
along with topics
like theology,
psychology, and
management at
the CCLS event.
More than 2,000 people took part in this year's
New Evangelization Conference.
Lolo Kiko (My Pope
magazine, that is) made
an apperarance at the
faith-filled event.
