Exposure to industry
We have industrialists on our
Board of Studies and Academic
Council giving inputs from the
industry perspective. We believe
there is a need for change not only
in content and use of new tech-
nology, but also in the teaching
of soft and life skills. So we have
integrated the soft skill training
programme in the curriculum
itself. Every semester, students
take up one credit soft skill course
which equips them with the
requisite skills for the 2020 job
market. Every subject taught at
the university has a minimum
module of two hours to be neces-
sarily taught by an industrialist.
The compulsory industry train-
ing, industry visits and Capstone
Project in industries in the final
year make students understand
industry processes and culture.
Skill enhancement
The university focuses on improv-
ing skills in the following areas—
digital, design thinking, cognitive
load management skills, virtual
collaboration, cross-cultural
competency and creating (inno-
vation) skills.
india today spoke to the heads of some leading
private universities on how they are enhancing
the employability of students
