he chairman of China’s largest private property developer
and the world’s largest cinema operator has, until recently,
consistently ranked as one of the richest men in Asia.
He has maintained a close relationship with the Chinese
Communist Party while staying “distant from politics”.
In 2017, Wang inaugurated the China Cup International
Football Championship, an annual tournament organised in
China for Asian national football teams.
