Leading hotel operators have taken heed
of their customers and are adapting their
offerings accordingly. Indeed the most suc-
cessful players are those that have stayed
abreast of the new trends impacting their
industry and strive to provide innovative
services that make the business travel
experience smoother and more enjoyable.
There is much to be gained from get-
ting the formula right. The business travel
industr y is booming, with the global annual
spend predicted to reach US$1.6 trillion by
2020, according to GBTA Foundation, the
education and research foundation of the
Global Business Travel Association.
Beyond excelling at the essentials—such
as locating properties in strategic loca-
tions, offering excellent service and pro-
viding world-class conference and meeting
facilities—the top business hotels are also
embracing digital technology to enhance
their offerings.
For instance, some are leveraging digital
platforms such as mobile apps and loyalty
programs to gather insights about their
guests to better customize their experi-
ence through amenities and services.
Leading the Revolution
Asia’s leading business hotels are at the
forefront of this revolution in hospitality
and regularly top “Best of” lists around
the world. Many are adapting their offer-
ings to ensure they stay relevant amid a
fast-changing competitive environment.
In July, Pan Pacific Hotels Group (PPHG)
unveiled a brand refresh to position
its Pan Pacific and PARKROYAL brands
to be closer to the customers of today.
The group is doing this by rejuvenating
its offerings and introducing new loyalty
programs at its 40 hotels, resorts and
serviced suites throughout Asia Pacific,
North America and Europe with a long-
term view to better serve and anticipate
its guests’ needs.
New exciting properties are also
emerging in Asia’s major cities and raising
the bar in those urban metropolises. For
instance, Manila’s hospitality scene is
being lit up by Solaire Resort’s first prop-
erty in Entertainment City. The US$1.2
billion complex is master-planned and
designed by world-renowned American
architect Paul Steelman.
A new standard in luxury accommoda-
tion has also been set in Korea with the
reopening of Executive Tower, Lotte Hotel
Seoul’s latest premium offering in the
downtown district of Gangbuk, after a year-
long renovation.
The 278-room Executive Tower was
unveiled in September and features the
sleek, minimalist design of U.K.-based
GA Group, the interior design company
behind prestigious hotels such as Four
Seasons Hotel Casablanca and Waldorf
Astoria Amsterdam.
These and other leading hospitality
groups in the region are setting the stan-
dard for business travel and paving the way
for an exciting new future for the industry.
The hospitality business is changing rapidly as increasingly discerning travelers seek out authentic and personalized
experiences on their treks globally. Looking beyond glitzy facades and trendy architecture, business travelers crave
genuine service that comes with a big dose of convenience.
