18 years. Having previously been split
between two blocks in the popular retail
enclave, its collection is once again housed
under one roof, in a showroom at Block 13.
This is Dempsey’s biggest showroom for
Asian furniture, so there’s a vast collection
of indoor and outdoor items, from pieces
sourced from Tibet, Myanmar, Thailand and
Indonesia, to a large selection of Chinese
antiques and reproduction pieces, and a
range of repurposed Indian furniture.

loungers and hanging chairs, continues to
be a popular seller, thanks to its resort-style
feel. Then there are the recycled teak and
elm pieces, which appeal to those keen on
environmentally-friendly furniture.
The Dempsey area has a rich history,
with many of its tenants housed in historic
military barracks. There may be a plethora
of food and beverage outlets on site now,
but that shouldn’t detract from the fact that
it’s still a buzzing retail spot to visit as well,
making it a lifestyle destination worth a
visit. What’s more, there’s free parking and
a free shuttle bus to and from Orchard for
customers too.
