A WORD FROM
THE SCHOOL
Our non-profit international
Jewish school welcomes
students from all nationalities
and provides a holistic academic
programme within a challenging,
intellectual and nurturing culture
to empower every child to be a
strong, confident and creative
thinker that cares about global
society. Small by design, the
school helps every child reach
their full potential through a
unique combination of academic
excellence, personal interaction
and all-round educational support.

WHAT’S NEW?
SMMIS has appointed a new
principal, Elaine Robinson, and
in August 2018 will take on the
International Primary Curriculum
(IPC), designed to allow students
to make connections between
their learning and the world.

A family’s perspective
Parents: Arnon and Tal Mashiah
Children: Zi v (11), Kfir (9) and Ariel (7)

SMMIS was a clear choice for
my children because it offers a holistic
private education tailored based on their needs. With a strong
curriculum, small class size and low student-teacher ratio, my
children are given the attention they need to shine. The school
environment feels like a family – the kids always feel welcomed
and accepted. They have made a lot of friends here and enjoy
going to school. As an Israeli, it was also important for my kids
to stay connected to the Hebrew culture and language.
The children enjoy robotics, speech and drama, and science
programmes. Robotics was introduced as an enrichment
programme, offering a head start to engineering, science and
developing simple machines. The introduction of the World Book
Week to the school has created a lot of buzz. Not only teachers,
but non-teaching staff and parents are encouraged to participate
in this initiative. Students come dressed as their favourite book
character, injecting a bit more fun in the activity.
