A WORD FROM THE SCHOOL
Tanglin Trust School provides British-based learning
with an international perspective to children aged three
to 18 years. A not-for-profit school, Tanglin is a vibrant co-
educational community. Learning is based on the English
National Curriculum, which is enriched to reflect the school’s
setting in Southeast Asia. Following (I)GCSE, Sixth Form
students have the option of A Levels or the IB Diploma.

WHAT’S NEW?
Opened in 2017, Tanglin’s Design & Technology facility
includes a design suite where students learn to design by
hand, a workshop where they can manufacture products,
a computer-aided design (CAD) area for 2D and 3D
modelling, and a makerspace with a range of 3D printers,
thermoforming equipment, laser and vinyl cutters.

A teacher’s perspective
Name: Zoe Williams
Role: He ad of Careers and
University Guidance

I’ve been at Tanglin
since 2014, teaching
Years 7 to 13. I have taught
(I)GCSE, A Level and IB students. The
opportunities the school offers the
students are incredible. They’re able
to take on leadership roles from the
Infant School all the way through to
the Senior School. Students can see a
real impact made with their work, from
the student-led TEDx conference to the
2041 ClimateForce project and the UN
“HeForShe” project.
It’s a privilege to be part of the
planning and support for students’ next
adventure when they leave Tanglin and
to be involved in the transition to future
studies, gap years and career paths. As a
teacher, I always feel that it’s a lightbulb
moment when a student becomes
impassioned about a particular topic in
history, discusses an article they read or
a documentary they have seen that has
sparked a new interest or linked parts of
the syllabus together for them.
