FIT AND FAB
How do expats keep
in shape in Singapore?
Our panel discusses the
various clubs, groups and
races they’re involved in.
I swim every second morning, which is a luxury,
plus I go to Ritual Gym once or twice a week (it’s the
best cross-fit training and it takes just 20 minutes). I
also play tennis with my husband and his friends once
every two weeks. – Alexandra
I work out with the people at Orange Theory Fitness
at Robertson Quay for their group class workouts. I
also go to barre classes at Upside Motion at Orchard
Shopping Centre. There are plenty of marathons that
happen throughout the year too, but I’m still mustering
up the courage for them! – Ankita
I’m a big yoga fan and love the Kundalini yoga
classes at One Heart in Tembeling Road. – Beth
I run, weight train and do yoga, which is great to
strengthen the whole body, stretch and clear the mind.
I take classes with Lori Nowak at Hale Yoga. I’ve also
discovered pole dancing class, which is an insanely
effective workout! SLAP studio offers tons off different
classes, from beginner to more advanced levels, as
well as dance classes without the pole for those who
are less vertically inclined. – Dana
I join in the activities that are run in Sentosa like
Pilates and Aquafit, as well as walking and cycling. I’m
thinking of joining a dragon boat racing team. – Linda
I’ve run some 10-kilometre races and I did the
Singapore marathon a couple of years ago. We have
a great 50-metre pool at the condo, so I swim a few
days and run outdoors or at the gym on others. – Lisa
I started playing tennis about two years ago and
really love the sport. I joined a team and we practice
two to four times a week and have a match every
week. It’s a lot of fun with a great group of ladies and
an intense workout too! – Mel
I’m into classes, so GuavaPass, F45, Absolute Cycle,
COMO or Upside Motion work well for me. We’re
members of the Tanglin Club so we get to play tennis
and squash there too. – Sophie
