Caroline’s Tips
for Newcomers

“Have a design vision for
how you want your dream
home to look. This can
be a feeling you want to
create at home, such as cosy,
lived-in or indulgent, but it
should also be a look – for
example, contemporary or
Hollywood glamour.
“A cohesive colour palette is
so important in making your
home feel well-designed, so
give this some thought. Invest
in a few pieces that will follow
you through your homes,
and never underestimate the
little styling touches. Scented
reeds or candles can make a
lot of difference to a room.
Plants also add to a more
lived-in, organic feel.”

Established in 2010 by Caroline Chin-Geyler, Arete Culture
has grown from a home-styling business into a company
that provides end-to-end home makeovers, runs two
retail showrooms, works alongside industry partners on
renovations projects and more.
With over 600 regional projects under its belt to date,
Arete has garnered plenty of experience working with
international clientele. For those looking for quick style fix,
there’s also its “Design in a Day” service, focusing on single
rooms and smaller spaces.
Arete’s showrooms are full of its signature luxe-look
products. The furniture is designed and finished in
Singapore and can be custom-made to fit a variety of
specifications. From dining tables, headboards, bed frames,
coffee tables and media units, to soft furnishings like
cushions, rugs, artwork and mirrors, they’re all a worthy
addition to a Singapore home.

How this home furniture and styling business
has gone from strength to strength over the
course of its eight years.
