Why rattan?
- It’s one of the fasted growing
materials and transforms
CO2 into clean air - It regenerates in five to
seven years - Production is handmade
and doesn’t require large
machines that pollute the
environment - Sika-Design rattan is
produced in Indonesia,
which has 80 percent of the
world’s rattan resource - Furniture production
doesn’t require glue and
can be treated with toxin-
free lacquer
The Originals
Inspired by Sika’s original design
sketches and models from the
1950s and 60s, skilled artisans
craft these rattan pieces by
hand, staying true to the brand’s
principles and care. Newer
pieces, such as teak items, are
also included in the Originals
collection.
The Icons
Created by world-famous
designers Viggo Boesen, Nanna
and Jørgen Ditzel, Arne Jacobsen
and Franco Albini, this collection
is made up of rattan and wicker
pieces, harking back to its
Danish design heritage through
the gentle curves you see in the
majority of the pieces.
