The Coca-Cola
Company will
acquire a minority
stake in sports
drink brand
BODYARMOR, of
which former US basketball player Kobe
Bryant is a major shareholder. The agreement
was made in a bid to rival PepsiCo’s
Gatorade. Bryant became the number three
shareholder in BODYARMOR in 2013 and over
the years has invested US$6 million. With the
Coca-Cola deal, Bryant’s share is estimated to
be worth US$200 million.
