Dutch design brand and yarn shop Trollenwol
will be launching its brand-new pattern book
at Shetland Wool Week. Uradale Mittens is filled
with patterns inspired by Shetland landscapes
and knitting traditions, designed by Hilly van
der Sluis. The projects, which have instructions
in both English and Dutch, are knitted in wool
from the Shetland producer Uradale Yarns.

skills with Joji Locatelli’s stunning shawl. Play
with colour combinations for Fair Isle with
Felix Ford, and master intarsia in the round by
creating Julia Farwell-Clay’s argyle socks.
Other techniques covered in the book
include double knitting, tubular cast-ons in
the round, gusset short-row heels for toe-up
socks, dip stitches, and Anna Maltz’s marlisle.
