YOKE
Using 3.5mm circular needles, 40cm long,
c a s t on 9 6 ( 102 :102: 108 ) sts.
Pm and join to work in the round, being
careful not to twist sts.

Work P1, K1 rib for 2½cm.

C h a n ge to 4. 5mm c i rc u l a r n e e d l e s,
40cm long.

BEGIN CABLE PATTERN
Rnd 1: Work row 1 of Chart to end.
64 ( 68 :68: 72 ) sts inc’d; 160 ( 170 :170: 180 ) sts
total.

Cont as set, working chart rnds 2–36,
changing to longer circular needles when
there are enough sts.

16 ( 17 :17: 18 ) sts inc’d on rows 4 and 8,
32 ( 34 :34: 36 ) sts inc’d on rows 14, 20, 26 and

  1. 320 ( 340 :340: 360 ) sts total.

Rep chart rows 37–60 until yoke measures
19 ( 20 :21: 22 ) cm from end of ribbing.

DIVIDE FOR BODY AND SLEEVES
Divide the sts into four groups:
90 ( 100 :100: 110 ) b a c k s t s, 70 ( 70 :70: 70 )
sleeve sts, 90 ( 100 :100: 110 ) front sts, and
70 ( 70 :70: 70 ) sleeve sts. Leave the sleeve sts
on hold.

BODY
Continue working cable pattern in the
round with the back and front sts: cast on
3 ( 3 :5: 6 ) sts for the armhole, work the
90 ( 100 :100: 110 ) back sts, cast on 6 ( 6 :10: 12 )
for the other armhole, work the 90 ( 100 :
100: 110 ) front sts, and cast on another
3 ( 3 :5: 6 ) sts for the armhole.
192 ( 212 :220: 244 ) sts.
Place markers for the sides at the midpoint
of the armhole sts.

Work the increased sts following the cable
pattern. Note that the pattern repeat is not
a full one at the sides.

When the body meas 5 ( 5 :6: 5 ) cm from
underarm, increase 1 st on the next round
on both sides of the marked sts (knit or purl
the strand of yarn between the sts through

the back loop following the cable pattern).
Repeat the increases 1 ( 1 :0: 0 ) more times
every 5cm, 3 ( 3 :1: 0 ) times every 6cm,
2 ( 2 :1: 1 ) times every 8cm, and 0 ( 0 :2: 2 )
times every 10cm.
220 ( 240 :240: 260 ) sts.

Wh e n b o dy m e a s approx. 6 0 ( 62 :63: 64 ) cm
from the underarm, begin ribbing in the
round. On the first round, decrease 2 purl
sts from between the patterns.
Work ribbing in the round for 3cm.
Cast off in pattern.

SLEEVES
Move the 70 ( 70 :70: 70 ) sts of the first sleeve
onto double-pointed needles.
Continue working cable pattern in the
round: starting at the side, pick up and knit
2 ( 3 :5: 7 ) sts from the armhole cast-on, work
the 70 ( 70 :70: 70 ) sleeve sts, and pick up and
knit another 2 ( 3 :5: 7 ) sts from the armhole
cast-on.
74 ( 76 :80: 84 ) sts.

Place a marker for the inner seam at the
midpoint of the picked-up sts to denote
b e g i n n i n g of t h e rou n d. Work t h e
increased sts following the cable pattern.
Note that the pattern repeat is not a full one
at the beginning of round.

When inner sleeve meas 3 ( 3 :2½:2½) cm,
decrease 1 st on both sides of the beginning
