Refrigerants (MENA)” that also provides
ASHRAE Continuing Education Credits,
adds: “Many opportunities come from the
large regional market potential. Also, the
GCC market has committed to the Kigali
amendment exception, which allows for a
better transition towards lower global warm-
ing potential refrigerants.”
Major players like Zamil Industrial, TROX
and Coolex are among the over 200 compa-
nies exhibiting their most innovative prod-
ucts at the show in November.
ODE Insulation from Turkey announces
the launch of its environment friendly green
glasswool product, ODE Starfl ex ECO
Acoustic, at HVACR Expo 2018. Ozan Turan,
International Business Development Team
Leader at ODE, explains: “ODE Starfl ex
ECO Acoustic contains fi berglass used for
thermal, sound and fi re insulation and ODE
bitumen membrane with white aggregate
stone.
“We are developing this special roofi ng
membrane with the support of the Scientifi c
and Technological Research Council of Tur-
key by using local natural minerals, which
increase the UV resistance of the membrane
extending the lifetime of the product. Also,
if applied under the photovoltaic panel as
a roofi ng membrane, ODE Starfl ex ECO
Acoustic refl ects the heat and increases the
panel’s effi ciency.”
Global market leader Belimo Automation
will also present its most innovative products
at HVACR Expo.
Visitors will be able to discover and source
the Belimo Sensor Range, ZoneEase (a new
advanced VAV system), the Three Way But-
terfl y Valve, and Belimo Energy Valve with
Cloud connectivity. This latter is an advanced
IoT capable control device, which has inte-
grated logic to manage circuit performance,
save money and improve effi ciency.
“Our Energy Valves give total visibility to
circuit and system performance in chilled
water and heating applications, by monitor-
ing and storing data, then, making it availa-
ble for recording, analysis, trending reports,
Delta T management, precise Flow Control,
and Measuring energy use – all from a sin-
gle data point,” says Colin Bridges, business
development director of Belimo Automation
FZE.
He adds: “We believe we lead the fi eld in
this ground-breaking use of technology.”
As the HVACR market in the UAE is ex-
pected to reach a value of $1.5bn by 2019,
the launch of the HVACR Expo promises to
help the construction industr y move toward
a greener and more sustainable future.

ASHRAE Global Training Center for Build-
ing Excellence will run at the event provid-
ing participants with Continuing Education
Credit and a Certifi cate of Attendance from
ASHRAE. These Continuing Education
hours may be applied toward maintenance of
LEED professional credentials as well.
HVACR Expo will put the theme of energy
effi ciency at centre stage this year. Accord-
ing to Faisal Rashid, in fact, “HVACR ac-
counts for heavy usage of energy, whether in
buildings or industries. Representing 70% of
the total energy consumption of a building on
average, HVACR usually puts pressure on en-
ergy generation systems and energy needs,
with both an environmental and a fi nancial
impact.”
The event will also explore the way for-
ward to overcome some of the challenges
posed by the GCC region’s environment,
through its educational program. Pramod
Kumar Jha, Sr. Mechanical Engineer at At-
kins, explains: “The Middle East climate
being ver y hot, humid, dusty and corrosive
imposes many challenges to engineers. The
cooling requirement per Square meter area
are much higher in Middle East than any
other parts of the world.”
Dr. Abdelaziz, who will present a session
about “New Developments in Lower GWP

5 will therefore launch the Big 5’s Women
in Construction Seminar and Awards, which
will offer strong, powerful and successful
women an international stage where to share
their experience on how they are changing
the game and making an impact.
Covering an area as big as 16 football fi elds
one next to the other, The Big 5 will show-
case thousands of construction products
and solutions from around the globe. Over
2,500 construction companies will take part
in the exhibition, clustered in fi ve dedicated
sectors: MEP ser vices, Building Interiors &
Finishes, Building Envelope & Special Con-
struction, Construction Tools & Building
Materials, and Construction Technology &
Innovation.
The Big 5 Solar, the Urban Design & Land-
scaping Expo, HVACR Expo, Middle East
Concrete and The Big 5 Heavy will run as
part of The Big 5 this year.
The fi rst edition of the HVACR Expo will
host more than 200 exhibitors from around
the globe, organisers Dmg events announce.
Launching with a broad industr y backing,
including partners Fawaz, SKM Air Condi-
tioning LLC, Trox, Finpower, Khansaheb
and Technalco, HVACR Expo also enjoys the
support of leading associations like ASHRAE
Falcon Chapter, AHRI, BSRIA, and REHVA.
Heijmans says: “We are extremely glad
and proud of the huge support we are receiv-
ing from the HVAC R industr y at a regional
and a global level for the launch of HVACR
Expo. We look for ward to promoting best
practices in the region while providing a vi-
tal platform for industr y professionals to do
business, network, learn and source innova-
tive, energy effi cient products.”
Dr. Omar Abdelaziz, ASHRAE Global
Training Center Instructor, comments:
“HVACR Expo brings a much-needed expo-
sure of the state-of-the-art to the GCC HVAC
R industr y. It provides an opportunity to
learn about the newest commercial HVAC
product offering for the GCC market with a
special emphasis on hot climate conditions,
while offering free-learning.”
Indeed, 20 CPD (continuing professional
development) certifi ed workshops will run
alongside the exhibition. The complimen-
tar y HVACR Talks will be delivered by some
of the most prominent industr y names and
decision makers, the likes of Faisal Rashid,
Director Demand Side Management at Su-
preme Council of Energy, Stephanie Taylor,
MD of the Har vard Medical School, and
Chris Muller, Technical Director of Purafi l
Inc.
