Loaves and Wishes

Upon publishing our guide to the city’s

best boules, batards and baguettes,

we discovered Torontonians’ deep and

abiding love of sourdough. One quoted

Cervantes—loose translation: “All sor-

rows are less with bread.” Others just

swooned in English.
