Big Fit Walk
SCOTLAND
The Big Fit Walk, an annual event
from Paths for All, sees hundreds of
30-minute walks take place across
the country throughout June to
bring people together and celebrate
the benefits of being active. Now in
its 16th year, the campaign calls on
all ages and abilities to organise a
walk or join one in their community.

Moray Walking &
Outdoor Festival

This ten-day festival features
walking, cycling, white-water
rafting, hillwalking, wildlife and
heritage activities to celebrate

Light the Lakes
CUMBRIA
This Lakeland event sees teams of
police officers, staff, retired officers
and police friends light up the
famous Wainwright fells of Cumbria
in memory of colleagues killed in the

line of work. Money raised will go to
the Care of Police Survivors charity.

Rob Roy Challenge
KENMORE
A cycling and walking fundraising
challenge with a variety of different
routes and trails (which also
includes a rambling option)
across the Rob Roy Way.

Purbeck Plod 
SWANAGE 
The popular Purbeck Plod returns
for 2019, with the option to do a
12-, 16- or 25-mile route. These
walks form a great introduction to
the beautiful Isle of Purbeck, with
drinks and refreshments offered
along the way.

In the Footsteps
of Wordsworth
ULLSWATER
Explore the places that inspired
some of Wordsworth’s best-loved
poetry. This walk is organised and

led by the Lake District National
Park in partnership with the
Wordsworth Trust.

Guided walk to Red
Tarn and Catstycam
with the John Muir Trust
LAKE DISTRICT
Walk up Mires Beck, see complete
views of Ullswater and experience
the drama of Red Tarn. The
route includes an ascent of the
Wainwright peak of Catstycam.

Denholme Doddle
WEST YORKSHIRE
The ‘doddle’ is in fact a challenging
27-mile route starting and finishing
in the village of Denholme. You’ll
pass through Top Withins and
other well-known locations in
Brontë Country. Proceeds from
this event will go directly to Mpika
Village of Hope in Zambia.

Glasgow to
Edinburgh Trek
CENTRAL SCOTLAND

Raise money for the British Heart
Foundation by trekking over
100km along the Forth and Clyde
Union canals. There’s also a shorter
route available, from the Falkirk
Wheel to Edinburgh.
