National Final
A
series of Singapore’s finest
amateur golfers took to the course
on Friday, 7 June for yet another
year of top-class golfing action at the
Singapore Island Country Club. It was a
day of exhilaration and sportsmanship
as this year’s edition of the prestigious
MercedesTrophy Singapore saw 77 of
Singapore’s finest players, representing
11 country clubs across the country.
After a day of battling it out on the
course, Mr. Eu- gene Oei (Division A),
Mr. Edward How Yee Lin (Division B)
and Mr. Jeffrey Yeo (Division C) emerged
victorious, scoring 46, 44, and 45 points
respectively. Ms. Chelsea Chen topped the
ladies division with her score of 35 points.
“The competition has become
increasingly tough over the last few years,”
said Mr. Eu-gene Oei, winner of Division
A. “It’s a tremendous honor for me to be
attending this tournament and would like
to thank Mercedes-Benz for this generous
opportunity. I look forward to making
Singapore proud at the Asian Final.”

Singapore is one of the city-state’s most
prestigious amateur golf tournaments.
From its inaugural tournament in 1992,
the golfing series provides Mercedes-

platform to showcase their extraordinary
combinations of performance, skill and
passion for the sport.
