nice varied selection of

CONCLUSION
Quickboost sets add that little bit
of extra detail to your model. As

the Quickboost name suggests,
they are quick and easy to use,
being generally just a drop-in
replacement part. I particularly like
the seats that come with moulded-
on seat belts. In1/48 scale, with
careful painting and a wash they
can look as good as photo-etch!
My thanks to Quickboost
for supplying these samples for

Noy’s Miniatures

vailable by the time you
read this is a new base
that can be used on a
wide range of dioramas, from
World War Two to Vietnam.
Perforated Steel Planking
(PSP), also called Marston Mat
(sometimes misspelt as Marsden
Matting), was widely used on all
types of terrain. The latest sheets
of scale mat from Noy’s are large
enough to display a single- or twin-
engined fighter in all major scales.

SCALE 1/144
NM144032 “PSP MARSTON MAT”
Length: 14.8 cm / 5.83 inch; Width: 10.5
cm / 4.13 inch, Printed on cardstock.

SCALE 1/72
NM72032 “PSP MARSTON MAT”
Length: 31 cm / 12.2 inch; Width: 21.9 cm /
8.62 inch, Printed on cardstock.

SCALE 1/48
NM48032 “PSP MARSTON MAT”
Length: 39.5 cm / 15.55 inch; Width: 28 cm
/ 11.02 inch Printed on cardstock.

SCALE 1/32
NM32032 “PSP MARSTON MAT”
Length: 59.3 cm / 23.35 inch; Width: 40 cm
/ 15.75 inch
Plotter-printed on heavy paper, the 1/32
sheet will be shipped rolled in a sturdy
carton tube, like a poster.

CONCLUSION
These easily make a simple base
for your latest model. I normally
manage to find a picture frame
in a charity shop to fit them
to. Just discard the glass and
attach to the wooden back with
some double-sided tape.
These printed bases are
available from Hannants in the
UK. For a local stockist contact

Yahu

O

nly a few new sets
from Yahu this
month. Two are pre-
assembled JustStick cockpit
sets for the Meng/Hasegawa
Me-163, while the Hasegawa
Ki-43 gets an instrument
panel in 1/48 scale. This set
also includes a panel for the
sidewall of the cockpit.
The final set is in 1/72
scale and supplies one set
of seatbelts for French
World War Two fighters.

1/48 SCALE

1/32 SCALE

Product number: YMA3239

CONCLUSION
I do like this manufacturer’s
approach with these pre-
assembled panels, so simple
to use and at very reasonable
pricing. And one thing I always
find interesting is that they
normally include an outline of the
kit’s panels overlaid theirs. In the
case of the 1/32 scale ME163, this
shows that the Yahu panel almost
perfectly matches the 45 year old
Hasegawa outline, but the Meng
panel is a couple of mm taller.
Our thanks to Yahu
for supplying us with the
samples, which are available
from Hannants in the UK.
