tradecal have been
releasing sets for current
and future boxings of the
Airfix British Phantom, so it was
not long before they included
the Alcock and Brown 60th
anniversary scheme from 1979. But
more interesting are two sheets
aimed at two new releases that will
be available later this summer.
First to arrive should be the
Revell Beaufighter and this is one
I am really looking forward to.
This will be followed by Airfix’s
Blenheim fighter. I was pretty blasé
about this choice of subject when
it was announced. That was until I

was fortunate enough to see a test
flight of the only flying example at
Duxford. I was surprised by how
sprightly this aircraft was and
how attractive it is with the short
nose. So much so I may have a fight
giving this one up for anyone else
to review, especially as I now have
these attractive decals to apply to it.

CONCLUSION
These sheets are all beautifully
printed, while the instructions
supply all you need to know about
where everything fits. I do like the
fact that Xtradecal brings out sheets
for new-tool subjects before the
kit’s release, as it certainly raises
the anticipation of the kit’s arrival.
Our thanks to Hannants for
supplying the review samples,
which can be ordered along with the
rest of the range, and everything
you need to complete your
model at http://www.hannants.co.uk.
