t’s fantastic to know that no matter

what your budget is for your next

Android tablet, there’s something

available for everyone. For those

on a strict budget, you’ve got a

plethora of great options out there,

some of which we weren’t able to

cover in this group test. But when it

boils down to it, the Hudl 2 from Tesco

is currently at the top of the pile by a

considerable margin. The device as a

whole is just a pleasure to use. It not

only has the power of an Intel Atom

processor behind it, but also all the

software to keep each member of the

family happy. We also really

appreciated the level of parental

controls that could be set up for

children, without it being an

overbearing feature taking away from

using the tablet as an adult. It does

lack the premium design of the

Nexus 7, which we still love, but it’s a

small compromise to make. Above all

else, when you consider than if you’re

an avid Tesco shopper you’ll be able to

get up to £60 off the £129 price tag

with your Clubcard, you really can’t go

far wrong by picking up a Hudl 2. It’s

worth checking out the Smart Tab 4G if

having that extra connectivity is a

deciding factor for you – and for some

it will be – but for now, Tesco’s tablet is

the new king in town.
