worked out and deeply insightful document and if its ideas and objectives can be
achieved, even in part, it will have played a large part in ensuring the survival of
Uganda’s chimpanzees. As can be seen, things are moving along, but the pace of
modernization and change is fast and the pace of conservation, hitherto, has been too
slow. If chimpanzees are to survive in Uganda, we need to speed up our efforts to protect
them. That is the challenge facing us.
