Decales Global

A

fter 50 years in
production, and nearly
10,000 examples built,
the Boeing 737 is the world’s
most numerous airliner. With
five examples being delivered
every month it is hard to see
this changing in my lifetime.
This month from Decales
Global we have a selection of
737 decals, covering a number
of operators, from national
carriers to airlines with only
a few examples in service.
I always mention that Decales
Global decals have an overall
carrier film, and you need to trim
the decals from the carrier sheet
close to the printed image before
applying them to your model.

CONCLUSION
Due to its long life,
you can spend the
rest of your modelling
life building just

1/144 scale Boeing 737s, and still
never produce one example from
every operator of the type.
Especially as production is likely
to continue well into the middle of
the 21st century, If you like things
colourful, airline schemes are the
way to go. As most are produced in
1/144 scale, you can produce quite
a large collection without taking up
loads of room, and Decals Global
supplies markings for airlines
that no one else has ever covered
before, from all five continents.

Foxbot Decals

O

ne of Foxbot’s recent decal
releases covers two Sukhoi
Su-24M Fencers of the
Ukrainian Air Force (FD48-029).
The aircraft have been painted
in the currently trendy digital
camouflage, and while the sheets
supply all the markings, they left
it to the modeller to figure out how
to paint this complicated scheme.
Now Foxbot have released two
sets of masks to make painting this
scheme a far simpler proposition.
Two sheets have been produced
for White 20 and White 41. Both
are finished in a similar, but
not identical scheme, and the
accompanying instructions clearly

describe the process of applying
this complicated paint scheme.

CONCLUSION
These masks will make
painting this scheme easier
but not simple; time and
patience will be the key to
reproducing it. But once you
have, you will have a model
that will be the centrepiece
of any collection – a display
with a Ukrainian Flanker,
Frogfoot, and Fencer,
all in a digital scheme,
would very impressive.
Our thanks to Foxbot for the

samples, which in the UK are
available from Hannants.
