“PEOPLE COME FOR THE HUGE VARIETY AND LOTS OF EDUCATION.

WE WANT THEM TO HAVE A FUN TIME.”

—Randa Parrish, owner

quilters have the information they
need,” Randa says. One-on-one
learning, regular demonstrations,
classes, and retreats happen in the
shop’s three dedicated classrooms,
the largest of which is 75 feet long
and accommodates up to 100 people.
New ruler methods, cutting
tips, and smaller quilt projects like
seasonal banners, table runners, and
wall hangings are demonstrated at
Saturday Samplers.

Machine-embroidery enthusiasts
enjoy monthly demonstrations of
Kimberbell Designs, including
techniques for embellishing tea
towels, decorative pillows, and bags.
Sewers move from basics to mastery
in a monthly Embroidery Club or
in more structured hand-embroidery,
machine-piecing, and machine-
embellishment classes.
One-, two-, and three-day
retreats take place in the shop’s

Christmas comes, it’s huge,” owner
Randa Parrish says; red and green
motifs cover 20 percent of the
store. Hoffman Fabrics’ Sew into
It! Tree Hugger is a popular paper-
pieced Christmas pattern. Batiks
and 1930s reproduction fabrics
are popular with the clientele.
Samples made by Randa and her
employees decorate a corner of
1800s reproduction fabrics.
