stay-at-home moms went hunting
for sewing space and settled on the
Creamery Marketplace in a then-
neglected part of town. People met
them at their farmers market booth
and stumbled into the shop to see
what they were making. Soon


quilters began asking to purchase
fabric for their own quilting and
sewing projects. “People found us
because they loved the fabrics we
were using,” Dede says.
The sisters’ segue into quilt-
and garment-making was a natural
