Ana, California, they attended

California Polytechnic State University

(Cal Poly) in San Luis Obispo. Kay

earned a degree in business and

marketing, and Dede in home

economics and fashion merchandising.

Now Kay manages the marketing,

books, and computer systems; Dede,

with her eye for color and design,

is the merchandising expert.

Like the town in which they live,

Kay and Dede are in a happy place,

grateful for their customers, and set

on spreading quilting happiness for

many years. “A lot of the fun is in

staying small,” Kay says.
