MOOD FABRICS

Most people know
about Mood from
Project Runway—
it’s the store where
contestants buy
their fabrics,
interfacing, and
zippers. Located
just a block and
a half away from
Gotham Quilts,
the store is not
on street level,
so visitors should
enter the building
and take the
elevator up to the
3rd floor.

High on Andrea
and Ivete’s list of

their results, everyone is inspired.
“People’s projects sometimes blow
my mind!” Andrea says. “Everybody’s
learning from each other—even us.”
Teaching and sharing their craft
is a passion for both Andrea and
Ivete. Gotham Quilts offers a variety
of classes, including learning to use a
sewing machine, handwork, and
advanced techniques like free-motion
quilting.
It’s likely that their students are
building lifelong relationships. “Even
if you have friends and family and a
good social life,” Andrea says, “you
still want something that’s yours,
someplace to go where you feel at
home and welcomed, a shop that’s
colorful and brightens your day.”
Gotham Quilts is that happy place
for many in Midtown—and beyond.
