When launching the
shop, owner Jan Kittle
knew she wanted to
give it the name of a
quilt block. She chose
Pickle Dish because it is
somewhat challenging
to make and is a nice
blend of contemporary
and traditional, which
matches her quilting
style. The pattern,
which was given the
name Pickle Dish in
1931, was popular in
the southern United
States from 1880
to 1910.
