That’s when he knew he had to
do something. The frame couldn’t
sit around collecting dust, so Wayne
set to work. It’s deeply personal for
Wayne, like art. He toiled on his
work like any artist does, and he drew
inspiration from the bikes he idolized
as a Ute.
For the desired bobber look, Wayne
de-raked the neck from 45 to 34 de-
grees. Given the budget constraints, he

through several iterations until settling
on Fat Bob tanks, for which he welded

gathering together some period-correct
foot controls and vintage hand controls.
With a complete engine back in his
shop, Wayne set to installing an Ultima
six-speed transmission. Fresh move-
ment through the gears for his fresh-
ened up engine, his work was really
progressing (though it may not have

perhaps after showing up everywhere
with muck on his face, Wayne decided
to throw one back on. And while he’s al-
ways been a fan of fat rear ties, he runs

rough, but it’s awesome,” he writes.
