Re ar body

Fluid fixture
The label on this Girling brakefl uidreservoir mounted under
driver’s seat warns that only Genuine Girling brakefl uid should be
used in thesystem.

Supplied state


The Series Iwas supplied with thestrippedrear body
temporarily mounted and needing morework. The
green-painted bodycappingswere loosely riveted on.


Pedal levers
The clutch pedal arm and the brake pedal arm(arrowed) are
mounted on the chassis under the driver’s fl oor(rods supporting
the pedalpads will project upward from these).


Brake master
The brake arm operates a rod through the chassis,connectedto a
lever thatworks the master cylinder on the chassisrail. A spring
operates the brake lampswitch on theforward crossmember.

Clutch links
The clutch pedal shaft(arrowed,
left) alsopassesthrough the
chassisto move thevertical
lever which inturn is linkedto
the crossshaft(resting on
chassisat left) which operates
the clutch in the bellhousing.
The visible endof the cross
shaft will locate in the bearing
on the chassis bracket.

Painted and fitted
On return from thepaint
shop, therear bodytub
fi tted perfectlyto the
chassis. Here, the freshly-
painted gearboxcover and
otherpanels hide newly-
galvanisedcappings.
