WHEN SHAUN GOT IT
The old 60 was bog stock when Shaun got it nearly 10 years ago.
The old fella he got it from would cry seeing what Shauno has put
the big girl through since then! Pretty rare seeing a mint 60 Series
Sahara in that condition these days.

THE BEGINNING AND END OF THE
ORIGINAL DIRTY 30
The original Dirty 30 was chopped into a ute about 6 years ago.
Shaun had the big heavy canopy on the rear which seemed like a
great idea at the time, but made it handle like a billy cart. Once he
went to a lightweight canopy – this thing turned into an animal.... a
very wild animal!
It was more capable on the tracks, however by the end of its life
it had some major issues, including cracks throughout the chassis,
rust in the cab, next-to-no brakes, and many other terminal
driveline issues.
The Dirty 30’s last trip was in the Vic High Country. Shaun nearly
lost it down a steep hill – it was no longer safe to drive and was
retired.

DIRTY 30 MK11

Fast forward 2-3 years and we’ve got a brand new Dirty 30! Shauno
couldn’t salvage much from the old Dirty 30 – so he decided to go
all out and build the ULTIMATE LandCruiser. Here’s a list of what
he’s done

  • 80 Series Chassis – braced, repaired, RAPTOR coated, with
    upgraded body mounts

  • 60 Series body chopped just like the old Dirty 30 – painted Sandy
Taupe – done by Custom RV Creations

  • 12HT gone – replaced with the 1HD-FTE sourced from Central
    Coast 4x4

  • Automatic Transmission from a 100 Series – sourced from
    Wholesale Automatics

  • Custom Suspension setup from Fulcrum Suspension and
    Superior 4x4
The Dirty 30 MK2 is still in the building phase – there’s plenty more
to happen on it to get it on the tracks. Keep an eye out on our
YouTube page for its first trip!

WHEN SHAUN GOT IT

When Shaun got a call from Justin at NQ Crash in Cairns saying he
knows someone selling a mint 1HDT 80 Series – Shaun couldn’t
help himself. It was perfect timing as the Dirty 30 was done and
dusted and he needed a new project.
All it had was a mild lift, cheap tyres and a bull bar – this winner
was it was rust free and low km – the perfect 80 to do up!

INSANE TRANSFORMATION

Shaun can’t just build a regular 4WD up – he’s constantly using his
4WD and camping experience to build purpose-built trucks for
what he does. Here’s what happened to the 80 over the last couple
of years

  • Full custom barwork from Custom RV Creations

  • Custom Suspension Setup from Fulcrum Suspensions and
    Superior 4x4

  • 35in General Grabber X3

  • Insane 12V with Century Batteries and a REDARC Manager 30
