WHEN HE GOT IT

So – many of you likely know – but Graham put his
last D-MA X on its side. It happened on the
bitumen in an instant – Graham was fine
thankfully but the old D-MA X was a write off. For
a change – Graham got the new one in Maroon

  • and we reckon it looks great! The beauty about
a D-MA X is you can make a few upgrades and
turn it into a cracking touring rig – let’s check out
    what Graham did to his.

SHORTY

“Over the years I’ve
transformed Shorty

from (^) literally a stock
as a rock GQ
Patrol with (^90) , (^000) km

(with more kilometr

es (^) on (^) the old girl now
than is polite (^) to talk
about). In that
time I’ve seen just a
bout (^) any and all mod
ifications you (^) can m
ake to a GQ (^) so
it’s hard to single o
ut just one but (^) I think
it’s the small things
that can (^) make
the biggest improve
ments so to that end
I’ve gotta say my (^) rea
r storage
set-up is my favour
ite (^) mod. (^) My (^) draw (^) sys
tem makes (^) the abso
lute most of the
available (^) SWB spa
ce (^) with extra hidden
cupboard space behi
nd (^) the seats as
well as the fridge c
age to stop things fal
ling behind (^) when (^) the
fridge is pulled
out. The double (^) frid
ge slide (a conventio
nal slide mounted on
top of the draw
slide) means acces

r storage and dual b
attery system all
fit in (^) the back (^) as (^) we

rally set-up for exten
thanks to some smart (^) thinking and ded touring
tricky use of space.”

“We live out of thes

WHEN GRAHAM GOT IT
Look at the old girl! Imagine going back and
telling Shorty what it’d get up to over the next
10-12 years! That right there is a fairly stock GQ
SWB. The beauty about these old trucks is you
don’t have to spend a motza to make them a beast
off-road. Let’s look at what Graham has done to it
over the years.
