Jack Whitehall will be leaving
his dad Michael at home for his
next projects. The 31-year-old
is returning to his comedy roots
with a new UK tour, Stood Up, this
Autumn, while his Hollywood
c a ree r i s a lso g oi n g from
strength to strength.
He’ll star alongside
Dwayne Johnson
in Disney’s big-
screen adventure
Jungle Cruise,
which is released
next year and
based on a Disney
theme-park ride.
Whitehall plays
McGregor Houghton,
the brother of intrepid
scientist Lily, played by Emily Blunt,
who embarks on a dangerous boat
trip to fi n d the m a g ic a l Tree of L ife.

the straight Whitehall has sparked
controversy, but the actor is thrilled
to be pa r t of the D i s ney fa m ily.
‘ I ’m havi n g the t i m e of my life ,’
he says. ‘It’s so cool to be part of
something of this scale.’
H e’s a lso s ig ned up for Clifford
the Big Red Dog, a film based on
the popular children’s books, in
which he’ll play Casey, the kindly
uncle of Clifford’s owner Emily
(Big Little Lies’ Darby Camp).
